About Flights

When will I receive flight times?

We charter many of our own flights for the 6 Nations rugby in Rome and this means that we can only confirm flight times when they have been confirmed by the charter company.

We will be able to provide you with flight information, including times and departure terminal, 3 weeks prior to travel.

 

Middle names are not shown on my flight itinerary. Do I need to provide these?

Currently, airlines do not require middle names, as long as your first and last names are accurately displayed.

 

Do I need to provide full passport details?

Advanced Passenger Information (API) is required by some airlines. We will inform you if we require API. Otherwise, there is no need to provide us with this information as it will be collected at the airport when you check-in.

 

I’ve noticed a mistake in the spelling of one of the names on my flight itinerary. Can this be changed?

If you inform us of a name change more than 10 weeks before the day of departure, then we will be able to make this change free of charge. Within 10 weeks of travel, name changes can be made for a fee of £25 per person/amendment. Name changes within 30 days of departure date will be subject to a £100 per person amendment fee, if the airline allows. No name changes are allowed within 72 hours of the departure date.

If you notice a mistake in the spelling of one of the names and you are within 30 days of travel, please let us know and we will do our best to assist you. However, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to make the change and you may have to purchase an additional ticket on account of the name change.

 

Is online check-in available?

Online check-in is not available for charter flights or for most of our scheduled flights. Instead, you will check-in at the airport on the day of departure and this is when seats will be allocated. If you are part of a group booking, it is essential that your group checks in together to ensure that you are all seated together on the plane.

 

Can I book extra-legroom seats?

We are not able to reserve specific seats and, instead, seats will be allocated on a “first come, first served” basis at the airport when you check-in on the day of departure.* If you have special seating requirements, then we recommend arriving at the airport as soon as check-in opens to reserve the seats that you require.

 

We have a group booking – will we be seated together on the plane?

If you check-in together as a group at the airport on the day of departure, then the check-in staff will do their best to seat your group together. Note that if you arrive late to check-in, limited seats may be available and you may not be able to sit together.

 

Will I receive flight tickets?

We work with ticketless airlines, and so you will not receive flight tickets in advance of travel. You will receive a flight itinerary from us prior to travel.

 

Will I receive boarding passes before travel?

For most airlines that we work with for the 6 Nations rugby, you will check-in at the airport on the day of departure and this is when seats will be allocated and when you will receive your boarding pass. 

 

My itinerary says I can check-in with just the flight itinerary and my passport - is this accurate?

Yes – if this is the information we have given you then all you require to check-in at the airport is the flight itinerary that we will provide you with and your passport.

 

The flight times have changed from what I was originally told - why is this?

As we're sure you can appreciate, Rome's airports are extremely busy during the 6 Nations rugby weekends and, unfortunately, scheduling changes do occur. While we negotiate hard to get the best possible flight times for you, sometimes we have to accept later or earlier flights to what was originally promised to us.

 

I am unhappy with the final flight times for my package - can these be changed or can I be moved to a different flight?

Unfortunately, we are unable to change flight times to suit individual travellers as we have to accept the times given to us by Rome Fiumicino/Ciampino Airport.

With regards to changing flight, as most of our 6 Nations rugby packages to Rome sell out, we are unlikely to have any other flights available; however, if you are within 3 months of departure, please do contact us with regards to changing flight/departure airport as this may be possible for a flight-change fee.

 

I can't find details of my flight on the airport website - why is this?

You are likely travelling on one of our charter flights. This means that it is not a scheduled flight and, instead, we charter the aircraft direct from the airline especially for our customers. Because of their personalised nature, charter flights are not shown on the airport website in the same way that scheduled flights are.

 

How do I know if I am on a charter flight or scheduled flight?

For information on whether your package includes a charter or scheduled flight, please refer to the itinerary on the first page of your booking confirmation.

 

What is my baggage allowance?

This information can be found on your flight itinerary. If you have not yet received your trip documents with your flight itinerary (i.e., it is more 30 days prior to travel), then this will be confirmed when you are sent your trip documents approximately 3 weeks prior to departure. Note that infants under the age of 2 are not entitled to the full baggage allowance.

 

About Airport Transfers

We include private airport transfers with our packages, meaning that an assigned driver will take you directly from the airport to your hotel, as well as pick you up from the hotel and take you directly to the airport for your return flight to the UK. 

 

About Accommodation

I am part of a group booking. Will all members of the party be located at the same hotel?

Yes, provided that you have booked as a single group. If your group has booked separately and asked for your bookings to be paired, then we will do our best to accommodate your wishes. However, this is subject to availability and we cannot guarantee that you will be allocated the same hotel if you book at a later stage.

 

Are room upgrades available?

Room upgrades are available at some hotels. Please contact us with your wishes and we will let you know if the upgrade is available. Note that an additional fee will be payable.

 

Why do I have to pay a single room supplement?

The single room supplement applies to those who have chosen to stay in a room alone, rather than share a room. We charge a single room supplement because our package prices are per person and based on two people sharing a standard double room. To explain the single room supplement, we would like to provide a simple mathematical example:

Let us consider a 3-star hotel that charges £200 per night for a double room and £160 per night for a single room. While the single room at first appears cheaper, when you consider that two people will share the double room, it is clear that, per person, the double room is cheaper: £100 per person instead of £160 per person.

As our packages are priced per person, this means that those choosing to stay in a single room must pay the supplement.

 

 

What are the single room supplement charges?

The single room supplement charges vary for the different levels of hotel. Please enquire about this with one of our team members who will be happy to assist with this information.

 

About Match Tickets

Are ticket upgrades available?

We include Curva Nord/Sud tickets in your package as standard. However, ticket upgrades are available, as follows:

  • Monte Mario Alta (along the sides): £70 per person
  • Monte Mario Media/Bassa (along the sides and closer to the pitch): £130 per person

Note that if you have already received your tickets, then it is no longer possible to upgrade.

 

How will I receive my match tickets and when will I receive them?

We will use electronic match tickets, these will be emailed to you together with your final holiday documents.

 

Will all members of my group be seated together at the match?

Yes, provided that you have booked as a single group. If your group has booked separately and asked for your bookings to be paired, then we will do our best to accommodate your wishes. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be seated together at the stadium.

 

I think I have received the wrong tickets. What should I do?

Firstly, we do apologise if you have received the wrong tickets. To resolve this issue, please contact us by email at bookings@bellarome.com and tell us that you think you have received the wrong tickets. In most cases, we will ask you to return your tickets and we will then send the correct tickets to you.

Is a match-day transfer to the stadium included?

We do not include a match-day transfer in the package. If you are unfamiliar with Rome, you may find this blog about reaching Stadio Olimpico useful. Note that we do not recommend that you take a taxi to the stadium as the traffic is very busy on match days - public transport is much quicker and more reliable, and there is also a wonderful atmosphere, with many match attendees using the services.

 

When will I receive my trip documents?

Trip documents will be emailed to you approximately 3 weeks prior to travel. If you are within three weeks of travel and you have not received your trip documents, please check your junk email folder as our emails may erroneously go here.

 

How will I receive my trip documents?

The following trip documents will be sent to you via email:

  • Booking Confirmation and Itinerary
  • Hotel Voucher
  • Flight Itinerary
  • Private Car Airport Transfer Vouchers
  • Match Tickets

If you have not received your trip documents and you are within three weeks of travel, please check your junk email folder. If you are still unable to locate your trip documents, please contact us at bookings@bellarome.com.

 

When will I receive my match tickets?

Match tickets will be emailed to you along with the full holiday documents, approximately 3 weeks prior to travel.

 

Is Rome City Tax included in my package?

As Rome City Tax must be paid directly to the hotel by the guest, we cannot include this fee in your package. Instead, you must pay the Rome City Tax directly to your hotel when you check-out.
